I currently study physics at the University of Manchester. I find physics such a fascinating and engaging subject as it enables you to understand the world around you through elegant mathematical theories. It also requires you to develop your critical thinking and logical skills, which have far reaching benefits. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at school, and although exams are inevitably a stressful period of your life, learning and improving in your subjects is a satisfying and enriching experience. I take a very flexible approach to tutoring, and I will tailor it to each student, depending on what is most helpful for your learning. I've found that setting questions for students to answer before a session, then combing through any problems you experience helps to identify the weaker areas of your knowledge, allowing you to more effectively refine your skills. Above all, I believe listening to the student is the best way to begin teaching - instead of forcing the syllabus on you, I will let you speak at length about what you struggle with, and decide how I can make the time you spend learning with me as valuable as possible. Generally I will look through your required learning and estimate how much time should be allocated to each part (obviously putting more emphasis on what you find most difficult).
